Notice to the Profession: This Notice is directed to Funeral service providers in the Toronto/Hamilton/Durham/Peel/York areas

The Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario (OCC) is requesting the assistance and cooperation of funeral/transfer services in attending at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex (25 Morton Shulman Ave, Toronto) as soon as possible to transfer deceased persons that are ready to be released, and arrangements have been made with next of kin. 

The OCC is facing an unprecedented number of deceased persons currently at the Forensic Services and Coroners Complex and it is necessary that funeral/transfer services attend on a timely basis to relieve capacity issues. 

As another pandemic-challenged year draws to an end, on behalf of each of us at the Office of the Chief Coroner/Ontario Forensic Pathology Service and the BAO we thank you for your incredibly hard work, dedication and diligence as you navigated through these challenging and unpredictable times.
