Proposal to Refuse Licence Renewal carried out: Jennifer Anderson
The Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) has carried out its proposal to refuse the funeral director licence renewal of Jennifer Anderson of Fort Frances.
The BAO has taken this action to protect grieving families, who are consumers of the bereavement sector.
The BAO’s proposal states that:
- Jennifer Anderson was charged with and has plead guilty to fraud over $5,000 under the Criminal Code of Canada. The conviction relates to the misappropriation of funds from a not-for-profit youth organization.
- This conduct affords reasonable grounds for belief that Anderson will not carry-on business in accordance with the law and with integrity.
The proposal was carried out on Oct. 4, 2022, after Anderson lost her appeal before the Licence Appeal Tribunal. Anderson is also not licensed to sell or offer to sell licenced supplies or services.
