Reminder to the Profession: Link to BAO Consumer Information Guide

Licensees are reminded to link to the Bereavement Authority of Ontario’s Consumer Information Guide on your websites.

The BAO Consumer Information Guide link must be in a clearly visible place, such as on your website’s homepage. You may place it under the Licensed by the BAO badge, sent to you last summer. (Click on the link to the badge if needed.)

Here’s the direct link to the BAO Consumer Information Guide for use on your websites:
https://thebao.ca/for-consumers/consumer-information-guide/

This new requirement is part of the changes by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services to Ontario Regulation 30/11 under the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002 (FBCSA).

The deadline for posting the web link to the guide is July 1, 2021, but you are very welcome to do so sooner.

The regulation change concerning the guide was included in our BAO Notice to the Profession on April 9, which you can re-read here.

Thank you.
