{"id":1281,"date":"2020-08-10T10:30:10","date_gmt":"2020-08-10T14:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/working.simplistics.ca\/bao\/?p=1281"},"modified":"2020-09-21T07:41:04","modified_gmt":"2020-09-21T11:41:04","slug":"registrars-directive-windsor-essex-enters-stage-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/stage\/registrars-directive-windsor-essex-enters-stage-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Windsor-Essex enters Stage 3"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Registrar\u2019s Directive:<\/strong><br><strong>Windsor-Essex enters Stage 3 gathering limits<\/strong><br><strong>at funerals &amp; visitations<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Effective Wednesday, Aug. 12<\/strong>, Windsor-Essex joins the rest of the province in Stage 3 of Ontario\u2019s re-opening plan subject to the following attendance limits:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Indoor funeral services<\/strong>, visitations and receptions are limited to 30 per cent of the capacity of the room, while maintaining two-metre physical distancing between attendees.<br>This applies to people gathering indoors for religious services, rites or ceremonies, and wedding ceremonies or funeral services, as introduced by the Government of Ontario in Stage 2.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Outdoor funeral services<\/strong>, visitations and receptions, including graveside services, are limited to a maximum of 100 attendees.<br>Funeral Directors must have sufficient numbers of staff present to ensure physical distancing is maintained.&nbsp;<strong>Cemeteries are permitted to restrict attendance numbers to less than the maximum.<\/strong>&nbsp;(Funeral professionals should confirm these restrictions in advance of services.)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ideas for serving food and beverages<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If permitted by your local health unit, funeral services may provide food and beverages pursuant to the rules and guidelines established in your community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If permitted by your local health unit, you could consider the following ideas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Offering individually packaged snacks or food<\/li><li>Provide individually boxed-meals (particularly helpful for visitations that occur during dinner hours)<\/li><li>Having an outdoor patio-dining area<\/li><li>Having staff serve food and beverages to guests<\/li><li>Generally, health units typically require seated dining with distancing between households\/social circles, and no buffet-style service.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Again, these are just ideas. You need to ensure compliance with your local health authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Mask or face covering<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As per the Registrar\u2019s Directive, effective July 8:&nbsp; Wearing a mask or face covering remains mandatory for all persons (funeral staff and attendees) inside all funeral establishments or any other indoor setting where a funeral or visitation is held in the following public health regions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Windsor-Essex County<\/li><li>Chatham-Kent<\/li><li>Lambton<\/li><li>Middlesex-London<\/li><li>Haldimand-Norfolk<\/li><li>Niagara<\/li><li>Hamilton<\/li><li>Region of Waterloo<\/li><li>Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph<\/li><li>Halton<\/li><li>Peel<\/li><li>Toronto<\/li><li>York<\/li><li>Simcoe-Muskoka<\/li><li>Durham<\/li><li>Haliburton-Kawartha-Pine Ridge<\/li><li>Leeds-Grenville-Lanark<\/li><li>Ottawa<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wearing a mask or face covering is strongly advised at all funerals or visitations in all jurisdictions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The BAO reminds you:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>That some municipalities and local medical officers of health have issued further measures mandating the use of masks or face coverings in some settings.
