{"id":1366,"date":"2020-09-10T15:20:29","date_gmt":"2020-09-10T19:20:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/working.simplistics.ca\/bao\/?p=1366"},"modified":"2020-09-16T17:44:06","modified_gmt":"2020-09-16T21:44:06","slug":"notice-to-the-profession-adapting-to-covid-19-changes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/stage\/notice-to-the-profession-adapting-to-covid-19-changes\/","title":{"rendered":"Adapting to COVID-19 changes"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) continues to adapt its Registrar\u2019s Directives and Notices for the safety of families and licensees in the evolving pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In follow up to last week\u2019s Notice to the Profession about what measures are still in place in the bereavement sector, there are a few Registrar\u2019s Directives that are being rescinded effective immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Be aware that some of these may return along with additional measures depending on the extent of the pandemic\u2019s second wave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Rescinded COVID-19 Registrar\u2019s Directives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 Previous Registrar\u2019s Directives on attendance limits \u2013 rescinded:<br>Attendance limits for funeral services, prior to the <a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/registrars-directive-windsor-essex-enters-stage-3\/\">Aug. 12 Directive<\/a>, are rescinded. The Aug. 12 Directive remains in effect. It replaced previous directives on attendance limits, issued in tandem with provincial government measures in Stages 2 and 3.<br>\u2013 Registrar\u2019s Directive on cemetery operating hours \u2013 rescinded:<br>Rescinded are the <a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/registrars-directive-cemeteries\/\">March 24 Directive that all cemeteries in Ontario<\/a> are to \u201copen their cemeteries and be available for interments immediately, or as soon as possible\u2026\u201d; and the April 11 Reminder that \u201cthat all crematoriums in Ontario must be ready to operate all day, every day, seven (7) days a week.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Earlier rescindments<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2013 The Expedited Death Response (EDR) ended for long-term care<a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/notice-to-the-profession-expedited-death-response-ends-for-ltc\/\"> (LTC) facilities on June 30.<\/a><br>\u2013 The EDR ended for <a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/notice-to-the-profession-expedited-death-response-discontinued-in-hospitals-effective-june-17\/\">hospitals on June 17<\/a>.<br>\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/registrar-rescinds-prohibition-on-in-person-witnessing-at-cremations\/\">June 21, these Registrar\u2019s Directives were rescinded:<\/a> \u2018In-Person Witnessing at Cremations Prohibited\u2019; and the \u2018Addendum to: In-Person Witnessing at Cremations Prohibited\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Stay clean \u2013 stay safe<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remember, cleaning and disinfecting your facility between services is more important than ever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Wear a mask<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please also remember that everyone must wear a mask at all funerals and visitations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Stay tuned<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stay tuned for changes when they come.
