{"id":1834,"date":"2020-11-12T13:07:43","date_gmt":"2020-11-12T18:07:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/?p=1834"},"modified":"2024-01-04T09:58:19","modified_gmt":"2024-01-04T14:58:19","slug":"registrars-directive-bao-issues-colour-code-for-regional-restrictions-that-licensees-and-establishments-must-follow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/stage\/registrars-directive-bao-issues-colour-code-for-regional-restrictions-that-licensees-and-establishments-must-follow\/","title":{"rendered":"Registrar\u2019s Directive: BAO issues colour code for regional restrictions that licensees and establishments must follow"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Effective Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><br>\u00a0<br>The BAO has created a simple colour-code system of regional pandemic restrictions for funeral homes and cemeteries, aligned with the Government of Ontario\u2019s move to a regional framework.<br>\u00a0<br>This means that restrictions for funeral homes and cemeteries can vary according to the status of their respective public health regions, from green\/prevent, yellow\/protect, orange\/restrict to red\/control and if necessary, full lockdown.<br>\u00a0<br>Please refer to the province\u2019s\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/page\/covid-19-response-framework-keeping-ontario-safe-and-open\" target=\"_blank\">framework<\/a>\u00a0and your local public health unit to be sure of the status of your community\u2019s colour code.<br>\u00a0<br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/the-link-no-longer-exists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BAO Colour Code Chart<\/a><\/strong> (Revised Nov. 20)<br>\u00a0<br>This\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/the-link-no-longer-exists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">chart<\/a>, created by the Registrar, shows which measures are required for funeral establishments and cemeteries in each colour-coded category. The colour category that the province or public health unit has placed your community in tells you which restrictions apply to your establishment.<br>\u00a0<br>As always, if your local health unit imposes additional or more restrictive measures, they must be followed.<br>\u00a0<br><strong>BAO Webinar<\/strong><br>\u00a0<br>The BAO will host the CEO\/Registrar&#8217;s COVID-19 Update Webinar to answer questions on the colour code system, which is designed to remain in place as restriction levels are adjusted regionally in the changing pandemic environment. The webinar will be held 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17.
