committees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In accordance with the provincial government&#8217;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/regulation\/180374\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Discipline and Appeal Committees Regulation<\/a>, the BAO has established its Discipline and Appeal&nbsp;Committees to begin addressing non-compliant licensees in house, rather than escalating cases to the Licence Appeal Tribunal or creating conditions of licensure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The BAO is currently seeking candidates to apply for positions on these two committees, comprised of bereavement sector and non-licensee representatives.<br><br>The BAO invites eligible candidates to apply for nomination to one or both committees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Discipline Committee<\/strong><br><br>The Discipline Committee is responsible for hearing and determining discipline cases concerning failure to comply with the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/regulation\/180216\">Code of Ethics, Ontario Reg 216\/18<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Available positions (two individuals from each category):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Non-licensee Representative<\/li><li>Cemetery Operator<\/li><li>Crematorium Operator<\/li><li>Funeral Establishment Operator &#8211; Class 1<\/li><li>Funeral Director &#8211; Class 1<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click&nbsp;<a category):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Non-licensee Representative<\/li><li>Cemetery Operator<\/li><li>Crematorium Operator<\/li><li>Funeral Establishment Operator &#8211; Class 1<\/li><li>Funeral Director &#8211; Class 1<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Click&nbsp;<a class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members of the Discipline and Appeal Committees will receive a per diem rate in accordance with the BAO\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/BAO-Remuneration-policy-Approved-by-Board-January-2021-2.pdf\">Remuneration Policy<\/a>.&nbsp; Members are also eligible for reimbursement of travel and out-of-pocket expenses associated with attendance at meetings or special functions in accordance with the BAO&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/BAO_Expense_Policy_Revised_September_2018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Expense Policy<\/a>. &nbsp;<br><br><strong>Nomination process&nbsp;<\/strong><br><br>A Discipline and Appeal Selection Committee, comprised of members of the BAO Board of Directors, will review applications from candidates wishing to serve on the committees.<br><br>The Discipline and Appeal Selection Committee will draw candidates for the Discipline Committee and the Appeal Committee from a cross-section of designated sectors, experience and qualifications in accordance with eligibility requirements.<br><br>The candidates who best meet the criteria outlined in the TOR of each committee will be
