{"id":3163,"date":"2021-06-11T10:16:51","date_gmt":"2021-06-11T14:16:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/?p=3163"},"modified":"2021-06-11T10:19:27","modified_gmt":"2021-06-11T14:19:27","slug":"notice-post-your-price-list-licence-and-link-to-the-bao-consumer-information-guide-on-your-websites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/stage\/notice-post-your-price-list-licence-and-link-to-the-bao-consumer-information-guide-on-your-websites\/","title":{"rendered":"Notice: Post your price list, licence, and link to the BAO Consumer Information Guide on your websites"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Notice to the Profession: Reminder \u2013<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><em>Effective July 1, 2021<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The BAO is reminding licensees of government regulatory changes coming into force on Canada Day, Thursday, July 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The regulations concern requirements for operators to post these items on their public websites:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Licence display<\/li><li>Price list of the operator<\/li><li>BAO\u2019s Consumer Information Guide web link<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Information about the changes, in a memo by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, were sent to licensees in an <a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/notice-to-the-profession-changes-to-the-fbcsa-on-cemetery-care-and-maintenance-funds-licence-display-and-price-lists\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">April 9 BAO Notice to the Profession<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here\u2019s an excerpt of what the ministry\u2019s memo stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Licence display requirements<\/strong> <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The changes, which come into force on&nbsp;July 1, 2021, will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Remove the requirement that&nbsp;<strong>cemetery, crematorium, funeral establishment<\/strong>, and<strong>&nbsp;transfer service operators<\/strong>&nbsp;(bereavement service operators) display their licence or a copy of it near the main entrance of their establishment.<\/li><li>Require that&nbsp;<strong>every bereavement service operator<\/strong>&nbsp;who maintains or makes use of a website to promote, or to enter contracts for, the sale or provision of a licensed supply or service to make available in a clearly visible place on that website their licence number and a description of their type of licence.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Price list and BAO Consumer Information Guide &nbsp;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>The changes, which come into force on July 1, 2021, will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Require that&nbsp;<strong>every bereavement service operator<\/strong>&nbsp;who maintains or makes use of a website to promote, or to enter contracts for, the sale or provision of a licensed supply or service to make available in a clearly visible place on that website:<ul><li>A free, printable electronic version of the <strong>operator\u2019s price list<\/strong>; and<\/li><li>A link to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/for-consumers\/consumer-information-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Consumer Information Guide<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;prepared by the Registrar of the BAO.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remember, as per the <a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/reminder-to-the-profession-link-to-bao-consumer-information-guide\/\">BAO\u2019s May 10<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/reminder-to-the-profession-link-to-bao-consumer-information-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> reminder<\/a>, that the Consumer Information Guide link must be in a clearly visible place, such as on your website\u2019s homepage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may place the link to the guide under the&nbsp;<em>Licensed by the BAO<\/em>&nbsp;badge, sent to you last summer.
