{"id":3308,"date":"2021-07-09T14:51:38","date_gmt":"2021-07-09T18:51:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/?p=3308"},"modified":"2021-08-23T13:49:17","modified_gmt":"2021-08-23T17:49:17","slug":"registrars-directive-capacity-limits-removed-physical-distancing-mask-wearing-requirements-remain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/stage\/registrars-directive-capacity-limits-removed-physical-distancing-mask-wearing-requirements-remain\/","title":{"rendered":"Registrar\u2019s Directive: Capacity limits removed; Physical distancing, mask-wearing requirements remain"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Effective July 16, 2021<\/strong><\/em>        <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The BAO is issuing this Registrar\u2019s Directive in alignment with the Government of Ontario\u2019s Step Three of its Roadmap to Reopen announcement today.<br><br>Indoor and outdoor funeral services, including visitations, will start operating under these requirements on Friday, July 16.<br><br>No additional measures have been added in this Registrar\u2019s Directive.<br><br><strong>Indoor funeral services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Indoor funeral services are permitted with physical distancing of two metres (six feet) between people.<\/li><li>No capacity limit, except for the physical distancing requirement.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Masks or face coverings are required indoors.<\/li><li>Passive screening continues: There must be passive screening of guests, meaning have COVID signage at the entrance for guests to self-assess. (Here\u2019s a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/COVID_screening_BAO_A3poster.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">link to the BAO\u2019s screening sign<\/a>, found on our COVID-19 web section.)<\/li><li>Guests must still be logged to enable contact tracing. Records must be kept for 30 days.<\/li><li>All attendees and staff must adhere to local public health unit restrictions.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Outdoor funerals \/ Services at cemeteries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>No capacity limit, except for the physical distancing requirement.<\/li><li>Cemeteries can restrict access as they deem necessary, as usual.&nbsp;<\/li><li>All attendees and staff must adhere to local public health unit restrictions.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Staffing ratios<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>There will no longer be a set staffing ratio.<\/li><li>Funeral establishments and cemeteries are responsible for ensuring physical distancing and the wearing of masks or face coverings indoors.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Food and beverages<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Permissible food and beverage services are determined by your local public health unit.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Exception &#8211; Waterloo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>(A few days after the Registrar&#8217;s Directive was issued, Waterloo Region announced that it was entering Step 3.)<\/em><br>Waterloo Region moved into Step 2 of Ontario&#8217;s reopening framework on Monday. Check with the local public health unit about the status for Waterloo going forward.<br>Waterloo will operate under the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/registrars-directive-new-covid-19-indoor-and-outdoor-funeral-restrictions\/\">Registrar\u2019s Directive relevant to Step 2<\/a>&nbsp;until its regional public health unit moves the jurisdiction into another step of the provincial framework.<br><br><strong>Thank you<\/strong><br><br>Remember, licensees are responsible for ensuring current restrictions are followed.
