{"id":554,"date":"2020-06-15T13:01:26","date_gmt":"2020-06-15T17:01:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/working.simplistics.ca\/bao\/?p=554"},"modified":"2020-09-16T15:12:22","modified_gmt":"2020-09-16T19:12:22","slug":"registrar-rescinds-prohibition-on-in-person-witnessing-at-cremations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/stage\/registrar-rescinds-prohibition-on-in-person-witnessing-at-cremations\/","title":{"rendered":"Registrar rescinds prohibition on in-person witnessing at cremations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">June 15, 2020<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Registrar\u2019s Directives regarding witnessing and scheduled holds of cremations&nbsp;<strong>are rescinded effective immediately.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rescindment refers to the April 21 \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/registrars-directive-in-person-witnessing-at-cremations-prohibited\/\">In-Person Witnessing at Cremations Prohibited<\/a>\u2019 and the April 22 \u2018Addendum to: <a href=\"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/addendum-to-registrars-directive-in-person-witnessing-at-cremations-prohibited\/\">In-Person Witnessing at Cremations Prohibited<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Witnessing may now occur<\/strong>&nbsp;with attendees\u2019 numbers limited&nbsp;to 30 per cent of the facilities permitted occupancy rating&nbsp;reduced by physical distancing requirements&nbsp;of two metres of separation among people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The April 21-22 directives have served their purpose and are no longer necessary. The BAO\u2019s recent survey of crematorium operators has demonstrated that the operators are able to safely accommodate witnessing and scheduled holds with the current demand on capacity.
