{"id":667,"date":"2020-03-20T16:43:34","date_gmt":"2020-03-20T20:43:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/working.simplistics.ca\/bao\/?p=667"},"modified":"2020-09-16T15:12:34","modified_gmt":"2020-09-16T19:12:34","slug":"notice-to-the-profession-interns-available-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebao.ca\/stage\/notice-to-the-profession-interns-available-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Notice to the Profession: Interns Available Now"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">March 20, 2020<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Registrar is announcing that eligible year one college students currently registered in the Funeral Director Class 1 and Funeral Director Class 2 programs are\u00a0<strong>immediately available for internship<\/strong>\u00a0positions on an expedited basis. Interns can start working immediately if their registration with the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) is in progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be eligible for internship, a student:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Must be currently on track to successfully complete all year one courses by the original posted semester end date of April 17, 2020.<\/li><li>Must successfully register their internship with the BAO and pay the required registration fee.<\/li><li>Can start work in their internship immediately, as long as they are working to get their internship registered.<\/li><li>Must successfully complete the year one course work based on requirements and deadlines that will be released by the program when available.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The college will confirm the student\u2019s eligibility with the BAO.<\/li><li>Failure to complete year one of the program will result in termination of eligibility to be an intern.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The usual requirements for an employer to employ an intern and be supervised by a preceptor remain unchanged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To register with the BAO, an intern must submit an Application for Internship with the prescribed fee and signed by a preceptor to our Licensing &amp; Education Coordinator:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:Erica.keess@thebao.ca\"><strong>Erica.keess@thebao.ca<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thank you to Humber College and Coll\u00e8ge Bor\u00e9al for their understanding and cooperation in adjusting their programs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"March 20, 2020 The Registrar is announcing that eligible year one college students currently registered in the Funeral Director Class 1 and Funeral Director Class 2 programs are\u00a0immediately available for internship\u00a0positions on an expedited basis.
