(Eirene) voluntarily terminated its Transfer Service Licence Class 1 on July 16, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Consumers who have prepaid cremation or other death care services with Eirene Cremations Inc. are encouraged to contact Bereavement Authority of Ontario Inspector Kate Dafoe at <a href=\"mailto:Kate.Dafoe@thebao.ca\">Kate.Dafoe@thebao.ca<\/a> or 647-952-4170.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About the BAO<\/strong> <br>The Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) is a government delegated authority and not-for-profit corporation administering provisions of the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/statute\/02f33\"><em>Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002<\/em>\u202f(FBCSA)<\/a>.\u202fAccountable to the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement\u00a0and the government, the BAO is\u00a0responsible for the protection of the public interest. The BAO regulates, ensures compliance with the law, provides resources and services to licensed:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Funeral establishment operators, directors and preplanners;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cemetery, crematorium and alternative disposition operators;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transfer service operators; and\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bereavement sector sales representatives across Ontario.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The BAO is wholly funded by licensee fees (not tax dollars).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Media contact<\/strong> <br><a href=\"mailto:David.Brazeau@thebao.ca\">David.Brazeau@thebao.ca<\/a> <br>Manager, Communications<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Eirene Cremations Inc.
