Effective immediately
The Bereavement Authority of Ontario has revised its colour chart of COVID-19 restrictions for all funeral services to adjust attendance maximums and other requirements.
Grey-Lockdown
Funerals and visitations in Grey-Lockdown zones are permitted to allow up to 15 per cent of capacity for the entire facility with physical distancing to a maximum of 50 people for indoor services and 50 people for outdoor services.
The indoor and outdoor limits cannot be combined to allow more than 50 people total (not counting funeral staff.)
Red-Control
Funerals and visitations in Red-Control zones are permitted to allow up to 30 per cent of capacity for the entire facility with physical distancing to a maximum of 100 people for indoor services and 100 people for outdoor services.
The indoor and outdoor limits cannot be combined to allow more than 100 people total (not counting funeral staff.)
All Other Zones
Funerals and visitations in the Green, Yellow and Orange zones are permitted to allow up to 30 per cent of capacity with physical distancing for indoor services and 100 people for outdoor services.
The indoor and outdoor limits cannot be combined to increase the total attendance allowed.
Cemetery and funeral operators may set lower attendance limits or include additional restrictions not outlined above for the safety of their staff.
All other public health measures including cleaning and disinfecting between services are still required.
Everyone must wear a mask and observe two metres of physical distancing between people.
