Notice to FD1, FD2, FPP and TSSR personal licensees: Time to renew your BAO licence

The Bereavement Authority of Ontario web portal is open for Funeral Director 1, Funeral Director 2, Funeral Preplanner, Transfer Service Sales Representative licensees.

The BAO reminds you that it is your responsibility as a licensee to renew your licence on time every year, due by Dec. 31, 2021.

Please also remember to update any changes in your personal information (such as place of work, address, email…) within 15 days of the changes in your account in the BAO portal.

Am I eligible to renew online?

You may renew online if you:

1. Have a valid credit card (Visa or Mastercard only)
2. Have not been criminally charged or found guilty of a criminal offence since the date of your last application
3. Have no conditions attached to your licence. If you have conditions on your licence, you will receive another email shortly with your renewal form attached.

If you are ineligible to renew online, please contact the BAO at: (647) 483-2645 / 1-844-493-6356 or by email: Info@thebao.ca, so we can email your renewal form to you.

What if my employer is paying for my licence renewal fee?

If your employer has applied a payment credit for your individual licence renewal, that does not mean that your licence has been renewed. Once you have received an email confirmation from the BAO advising that a credit has been applied, you will still have to log in to the licensee portal to renew your licence.

Once you reach the payment section of your online renewal application, select “Individual Renewal Credit” from the “payment type” drop-down list to apply the credit.
