Notice to the Profession: BAO seeking contact info of out-of-touch cemeteries

The Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) is working to solve a very old problem going back more than 20 years. Many cemeteries do not have email addresses or contact names and phone numbers registered with the BAO.

In many cases, they are small cemeteries operated by volunteers and have not connected with the BAO. 

We need your help, as licensees, in connecting us with as many of these cemeteries as possible.

We are collecting their contact information in order to:

• Update the contact information in our online public register of all Ontario cemeteries
• Help small cemetery operators come into compliance with the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002 (FBCSA)  
• Ensure all Ontario cemetery operators are kept up to date with Registrar’s Directives, Notices, guidance and other important information from the BAO

You may deal with some of the cemeteries in your area on occasion. Please review this list, organized alphabetically by city and town names. We would appreciate it if you could provide us with a name, phone number, and/or email address of the cemetery representative(s).
