Notice to the Profession: Important Reminder — BAO Personal Licence Renewal

Please read this email carefully and keep it for reference. 

The BAO Licensee portal is now open to renew your personal licence, which must be renewed by the licence expiry date of December 31st.

If you hold more than one personal licence: You will have separate profiles for each personal licence. (Sales Representative licences still expire on the anniversary date of initial licensure.) 

Setting up your portal account: If you have not yet set up your portal account, you would have received an email from “OBIS Admin” this past May, which contains a unique link to create your online account with the BAO’s licensee portal. Individuals holding a Funeral Preplanner or Funeral Director and a Sales Rep licence would have received two separate emails. 

Continuing Education courses: You can now enter your Continuing Education courses anytime throughout the year. Simply log in to your portal account and click on “Profile” in the menu under your name, then click on “Continuing Education” and enter your course info. No need to upload certificates of completion but hold onto them in case your name is randomly selected for audit purposes. Payment for licence renewal: There is no more option for managers to prepay licence renewal fees for their licensed employees. Instead, each licensee will use their own credit card, or if their employer permits, their employer’s credit card. The licence renewal fee of $244.47 can be paid by Debit or Credit (Visa & Mastercard). Receipts can be downloaded after payment is made.

Please renew by 11:59pm on December 31st to avoid a late fee (an additional $91.68).
