Reminder: Keep a record of your continuing education hours
Licensees are reminded to save certificates or a record of your continuing education courses and/or webinars, as approved by the Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO).
For BAO licensees who attended Wednesday’s free one-hour webinar hosted by the Ministry of Finance, as approved by the BAO for continuing education credit, please save a copy of your registration email as proof of attendance. (The ministry has advised that it does not have a recording available of its webinar.)
The ministry webinar, called Introduction to Ontario’s Estate Administration Tax, counts for one hour of continuing education. Licensees are required to complete a minimum of six hours of continuing education to be eligible for licence renewal each year.
Licensees are advised to keep a digital record (PDF, email) or printed record of their BAO-approved continuing education webinars and/or courses. See the BAO-approved continuing education courses on our webpage.
Licensees can now add their continuing education details anytime throughout the year on the BAO Licensee Portal, on OBIS. All licensees have been sent an email with a unique link to set up their online profiles.
Cemetery operators and staff are not required to take continuing education courses, but it is recommended.
