Jay Blair

Barrister & Solicitor, Notary Public, Jay Blair has been the Bereavement Authority of Ontario’s General Counsel since 2022.
He received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Ottawa after undergraduate studies at Queen’s University in Kingston.
Jay has been an administrative lawyer in the regulatory sector for more than 10 years. Prior to joining the BAO he was a staff lawyer at the Real Estate Council of Ontario, where he conducted prosecutions, provided advice on corporate governance matters, and served as duty counsel to the organization.
Jay served as as Interim CEO/Registrar of the BAO from July to December 2025.
Jay has been an active volunteer in the arts sector for 20 years and is now the chair of the Toronto Bach Festival Board of Directors.
