Tatsiana is the Associate General Counsel, Litigation at the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) in Toronto. She provides strategic legal leadership on external litigation, governance, and policy initiatives. Tatsiana oversees CIRO’s hearing process administration, leads cyber incident response and e-discovery efforts, and manages relationships with internal and external stakeholders. She has led consumer protection initiatives, including framework development and public consultations on dispute resolution through arbitration and disgorgement distribution to harmed investors. Her work reflects a strong commitment to procedural fairness, effective consumer protection, and regulatory integrity.
Her previous experience includes in-house legal roles with the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), CIRO’s predecessor, where she provided legal advice on class actions, regulatory, privacy, commercial and employment law matters, as well as private practice in securities and commercial civil litigation.
Called to the Bar in 2011, Tatsiana earned her Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto and later completed a Master of Laws (LLM) program in Business Law (2014 – 2016). She also holds a degree in linguistics and is fluent in English, French, Russian and Belarusian.
