
Notice of Proposal to Revoke the Licence of a funeral director in Markham
The Registrar is proposing to revoke the licence of Jordan Grant as a Funeral Director, Class 2, operating at the Chapel Ridge Funeral Home & Cremation Centre in Markham, Ontario.
The Registrar alleges that Grant engaged in unprofessional conduct in his dealings with a client, thereby breaching the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002 (the Act).
These allegations have not been proved at a Licence Appeal Tribunal hearing.
The notice of proposal to revoke his licence was served on January 27, 2026.
Right to a hearing
The Act provides that a licensee is entitled to a hearing by the Licence Appeal Tribunal of a proposal by the Registrar to revoke a licence within 15 days after service of the notice. The licensee must send the notice in writing stating that a hearing is required.

- Cemetery, crematorium and alternative disposition operators;
- Transfer service operators; and
- Bereavement sector sales representatives across Ontario.
The BAO is wholly funded by licensee fees (not tax dollars).
